"1974 Ford Bronco: Customized with Powerful Off-Road Performance Upgrades"
This 1974 Ford Bronco was refurbished and modified under prior ownership by Nick’s Trix of Denver, North Carolina. Finished in Burnt Orange paint, this Bronco features a white leather interior, a custom-built roll cage, a 347-cu.in. stroker V8, and a five-speed manual transmission. Lifted to accommodate 35-inch tires, this custom Bronco is said to “run and drive well.” The Ford has been with its current owner since November 2016, and the selling dealer is representing the vehicle on consignment. This customized U15 currently shows 2,826 miles.
POWERTRAIN
The Ford small-block OHV V8 was custom built by Collins Engine Works of Denver, North Carolina. Thanks to a 3.4-inch stroker crankshaft and a 4.030-inch overbore, it now displaces 347 cubic inches. With AFR aluminum heads, a Weiand intake manifold, a Comp Cams camshaft, a Summit four-barrel carburetor, and tubular headers, the engine is said to produce an aggressive tone at idle with a strong power and torque curve. The AX15 five-speed manual transmission mates to a cast-iron Dana 20 two-speed transfer case. Power is then sent to a Ford 9-inch rear axle and a Dana 44 axle up front, both prepared by Currie Enterprises. The selling dealer states that no leaks or issues are present.
EXTERIOR
This Burnt Orange Bronco, with a steel removable hard top finished in white, was restored by Chuck Schenck Autobody of Maiden, North Carolina, under prior ownership. To accommodate the larger rolling stock, rear wheel arch extensions were added. Custom steel bumpers and side steps have been added and an ENGO front winch with synthetic rope provides assurance on the trails. There is evidence of corrosion on the windshield frame and the selling dealer states that the glass and trim are in good condition.
INTERIOR
The custom white leather interior features seating for four and a full roll cage for added safety. An aftermarket Kenwood radio resides inside the dashboard and powers four speakers. The Nardi wooden steering wheel sits in front of the white dash panel that houses Vintage Air HVAC controls and a single gauge that measures vehicle speed, fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. There are 2,826 miles currently showing on the analog odometer, and it's believed the odometer was reset at the time of the restoration.
CHASSIS
The fully painted frame features a 3.5-inch Wild Horses suspension lift, with Bilstein shocks all around, power-assisted front disc brakes and rear drums. The front hubs are manually locking. A spare wheel is mounted on a steel swing-away rear tire carrier. The seller notes the rear brake shoes were replaced in preparation for the sale. Aftermarket Fuel wheels are wrapped in 35×12.5-15 Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ tires with 2013 date codes.
DOCUMENTATION
The selling dealer states that it will provide a clean New York title in the consignor’s name. This custom-built 1974 Ford Bronco comes with some receipts from the build by Nick’s Trix. As the original American off-road sport utility vehicle, the popularity of U15-generation Broncos is no surprise. This performance-enhanced Bronco, with a stroked Ford small-block and a five-speed manual transmission, appears ready for your next adventure—on road or off.
