A man broke down in tears when he reunited with the dog he had to give up 10 years ago.
Michael Sawyer had an emotional reunion with his dog, Smokey, who he rehomed himself after he was forced to give the dog up due to unfortunate life circumstances.
He brought his wife, Susanna Green-Sawyer, along for the visit to meet Smokey, who is now 16 years old.
From the moment Smokey sees Michael it’s clear he recognizes him. The elderly Pit Bull makes his way over to Michael and leans into him.
Michael gives Smokey a treat and the two hug each other for quite a while.
Susanna filmed the emotional visit and shared video on TikTok.
The two are all smiles and Michael is so happy to see Smokey happy. Here’s part 2 of the TikTok video.

Susanna responded, “Yes I agree. At the time he passed on several people before making a final decision. He even went to people’s homes to inspect.”

“So good,” Susanna answered. “I was impressed how the new owners sent pics and updates throughout the years. They were truly amazing.”

Susanna responded, “Yes, Marissa! I was surprised. After all that time has passed. Guess dogs never forget, huh?”
