This poor dog named Emily was locked in a filthy, empty cage at a meat dog farm in South Korea.
On a very hot day in July, rescuers from the Humane Society of the United States went to the meat farm and saw her. Emily is in terrible shape. She has been isolated from the world, her legs are raw and swollen, and it is very painful to stand on the wire floor. She also has little to no hair and suffers from severe mange, which has never been treated and will only get worse.
Emily has such a hard life, but since she was killed, things have only gotten worse. Luckily, the rescuers have to rescue her in time to save her from this nightmare. They are also ready to save the 130+ dogs from this butchery with Emily!
Emily was rushed to the animal hospital, where she was examined and treated. Today, she looks like a completely different dog.
Her transformation is simply breathtaking! She received treatment for scabies and her hair started to grow beautifully.
She lives in the United States, in Florida, with her new family and enjoys every moment of it. She has a large yard to romp around in and never has to worry about being confined to a cage. She is also making new dog friends and is extremely friendly and sweet.
Thanks to The HSUS, Emily can finally feel what it’s like to love and be loved. She sleeps on a warm bed, eats real food, and plays with real toys. Every dog is worthy of measuring a life like this!
Unfortunately, the dog meat farm where the one that looks like Emily was found is not the only one. It is understood that South Korea breeds dogs for human consumption, and there are thousands of farms throughout the country. The HSUS will continue to work hard to clean up all these farms!
