A Heroic Husky Finds a Box Full of Kittens and Becomes Their Loving Guardian
Whitney's husky, Banner, has been by her side since she was a puppy. Whitney personally trained Banner to assist not only her but also others in various situations and tasks. Banner has been especially helpful when Whitney experiences anxiety attacks or PTSD episodes. She has a deep understanding of how to comfort and support Whitney during these difficult times.
According to Whitney's account to Bored Panda, Banner is trained to detect and notify her of impending anxiety attacks, PTSD episodes, headaches, and other symptoms. Banner also helps with tasks such as guiding Whitney in her work, curbing impulsive behaviors, reminding her to take medication, and interrupting self-harm behaviors. Additionally, Banner is always connected to kittens as Whitney is actively involved in rescuing them. In fact, Banner even helped raise Whitney's first rescued kitten two years ago, which was found abandoned and had to be fed with a bottle.
Whitney's deep love for animals is evident in her strong bond with Banner. They share a special connection and often engage in rescue efforts together. During one of their treks through the forest, fate led them to an unexpected discovery - a sealed cardboard box containing seven newborn kittens.
Their compassionate hearts couldn't ignore the helpless little ones in need. Without hesitation, Whitney and Banner took immediate action to provide care and support for the abandoned kittens. They recognized the importance of ensuring the well-being and safety of these fragile lives.
Together, Whitney and Banner worked tirelessly to provide the kittens with the necessary care and nurturing they needed. Their commitment to the animals was unwavering as they took on the responsibility of fostering and rehabilitating the kittens, ensuring they had a chance at a bright future. This rescue mission became another testament to their love for animals and their dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of those in need.
Whitney tells Metro in an interview:
Someone must have placed them in a cardboard box, carefully closed the lid, and left them to die. They most likely believed that no one would ever find them. I’m not sure how Banner knew they were there. The kittens froze and didn’t meow or do anything else.
Banner has not left their side since they rescued the kittens and has decided to adopt them as if they were his own offspring. She is a very motherly and loving dog, and as long as the cats are in her care, she will do everything she can to keep them well.
The children were welcomed and cared for in Whitney’s house, and she then takes it upon herself to find each of them a loving home.
Whitney continued, saying:
«I will locate suitable homes for the kittens, where they will be loved indefinitely. Because our local shelter frequently euthanizes animals after three days, it’s ideal if I take care of them personally. That’s why I’m usually the one who ends up babysitting. I do not want them to perish.
Banner, the courageous and compassionate husky, will forever be hailed as a hero in the hearts of all who encounter her inspiring story. With her remarkable abilities and boundless love, she played a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and happiness of the rescued felines. The impact of this extraordinary rescue mission is destined to leave a lasting impression on all those touched by it.
Thanks to Banner's innate instincts and unwavering dedication, the once vulnerable kittens are now in a secure and loving environment. Her selfless actions not only saved their lives but also provided them with the opportunity to experience a future filled with joy and contentment. The memory of this remarkable rescue will undoubtedly be etched in the minds of many for years to come.
