A man with a kind heart cares for more than 750 dogs in his shelter with love_dogs

Those who do not respect their selfless friendship abandon countless animals on the streets. Thankfully, there are people like Sasha Pesic who have been aiding homeless dogs and giving them all the care they require for many years.

This man, who is considered as one of Serbia’s leading animal rights campaigners, opened his own shelter in 2008, which today homes 750 dogs.

Pesic’s story began the next year, when he was driving home and came upon four abandoned puppies. He couldn’t stop himself from wanting to save them, and despite his limited financial means, he began to put up a plan to help them.

Sasha was able to begin her shelter with the support of six volunteers, providing a home and food for all of the animals, and she has been able to keep it running thanks to contributions from all around the world. He knows the names of every animal he cares for, vaccinates, sterilizes, and tags with an identifying microchip.

Sasha has rescued around 1,200 dogs, with over 400 of them adopted by people all throughout the world. He is unquestionably a terrific role model for everyone. This man is experiencing problems with the owners of the land where the refuge is located, who have asked him to leave.

When the matter became public, thousands of people signed a petition, compelling the government to back down, although temporarily.

Sasha thanks everyone for their assistance and feels that the problem of so many abandoned dogs derives from a system that does not seek solutions but instead causes more harm.

According to Sasha,

“Another concern is the owners’ irresponsible behavior in not neutering their dogs and dumping them outside when they are no longer needed, from “I have a newborn and can’t take care of the dog,” to “I don’t need it anymore.”

He receives no government support, and many veterinarians charge him high prices because they assume he has too much money from contributions.
