Many puppies are left to fend for themselves. In the streets, in the open, and even in the houses where they live, many remain tied up, neglected. Unfortunately, human beings have done them terrible damage. However, there are also heroes and heroines who rescue them and give them a new lease on life.
This is the story of Bumer , a puppy that became very popular a couple of years ago in the city of Lima, Peru. The little one was left by his former family at an airport, where he waited for 6 months for his return from him.
One day he went for a walk with his family. Unfortunately, he was left in front of the entry gate for domestic flights at the Jorge Chávez airport, located in the Peruvian capital. The animal had been betrayed by those in whom he had once placed his trust.
There were many days of suffering and indignity that Bumer had to go through. He, prey to the rejection of the people who urged him to leave with contempt, throwing him out of the place many times.
Before, Bumer had a normal life, like any other puppy, with all the basics to be happy. However, this dehumanizing act changed his world overnight .
“The puppy is very sick, they put a cardboard box on it to protect it a bit from the cold, but it was stolen. Bumer sleeps on a dirty rag and endures the rain without moving from there, because he is still waiting for that flight that he believes will bring his family back, ”commented an airport employee.
The poor little animal waited every day with the illusion intact, but no one came back for him. His health began to deteriorate and he fell . The piece of cardboard where he lived was replaced by a piece of filthy cloth.
“Please, your case breaks our hearts, it is moving to see him immovable in that place. If he doesn’t get out of there, he’s going to die soon, we urgently need a temporary home, we’ll take care of Bumer’s adoption, food, and medical treatment,” wrote Milagros Salazar, the young woman who made her story public on social media.
Since then, his story went viral and was shared by countless people moved by the situation of the cute and obedient puppy, until, finally, he touched the heart of a supportive couple .
They picked him up and rushed him to a veterinary clinic. Indeed, the furry one suffered from anemia and bacterial ehrlichiosis , a disease caused by ticks.
He also suffered from distemper, a highly contagious condition caused by a virus that affects the respiratory, gastrointestinal, and often nervous systems of dogs.
Despite everything, thanks to the great efforts of the medical team and the love of his new family, Bumer managed to overcome so many misfortunes. Shirley Olivares and her husband Víctor rescued him, adopted him and gave him the opportunity to spend the rest of his days in a home full of peace, consideration and respect.
He is a very brave puppy who will never be alone again. Likewise, Shirley published in her accounts that they are open to receiving any type of help, except money. Only donations of food, clothing and paying for her treatment expenses.
