Working at an animal shelter can be quite unpredictable, as you never know what kind of animals you’ll encounter each day. Though most days are routine, there are some surprises that come up unexpectedly. This was the case for Sgt. Bryan McFarlane from the Orange County Virginia Animal Shelter who received a call about a pit bull with a wired muzzle. According to reports, a family had called the shelter after finding the dog on their porch in Orange, Virginia.
As soon as MacFarlane arrived at the location, he noticed that the dog was in dire need of assistance. The animal had a wire tightly wrapped around its muzzle, which had been placed there by a human, according to a statement posted by the shelter on Facebook. Wyatt’s muzzle was swollen, and the wire had already sliced into his lower cheeks. Despite attempts to feed him a hot dog, the poor creature was unable to open his mouth wide enough to eat due to the tightness of the wire. Additionally, the distressed dog was also suffering from mange and broken teeth.
Wyatt was taken to the veterinarian for the necessary treatment after suffering from animal abuse. The vet stated that it was the worst case of abuse they had ever encountered. However, with care and attention, Wyatt made a speedy recovery within just a few weeks. Now he is a happy-go-lucky dog that enjoys playing with toys and relishes all the affection he receives.
On their Facebook page, the animal shelter expressed their gratitude towards everyone who showed unwavering love and support. They were able to raise sufficient funds to cover the dental surgery of a dog named Wyatt, who is now recuperating splendidly. The shelter also shared the exciting news that Wyatt is now available for adoption. They are in search of a compassionate family who can give him the tender loving care he deserves for the rest of his life.
