Elmo is a lovely pit bull that has survived a horrible circumstance of abandonment and is now experiencing what it’s like to be free and surrounded by affection. This puppy had been abandoned with another dog and had been shut up in the patio of his house for a long time.
The dogs’ prior owners have not been identified, and they were transported to the KC Pet Project, a non-profit group that runs Kansas City’s municipal animal shelter.
Tori Fugate, a member of the KC Pet Project, said to The Dodo:
“We believe a neighbor spotted the dogs being there and reported them to Animal Control.”
Elmo was able to go on a stroll around a park and numerous historical landmarks in the city, where he met many new friends, and his transformation was remarkable; when he was rescued, he appeared to be extremely unhappy, but now he can’t stop smiling.
Tori continued:
“She even visited a nearby beauty salon.”
Elmo was photographed when he arrived at the shelter, and his expressions were fearful and sorrowful.
tori explained:
“When he’s racing in the opposite way or knows he’ll be outside the shelter, he gets this lovely smile on his face.”
The KC Pet Project’s “furlough” program allows canines to go outside at the rescue center. This was a wonderful time in Elmo’s life, but he wished to find a home.
Elmo enjoys soft mattresses, loud toys, and, most importantly, despite his ordeals, he genuinely loves people, notably youngsters.
Tori continued:
“You’d think that after being abandoned at his prior home, he’d never trust humans again, but that’s not the case with him. When you meet Elmo and see his cheerful smile, you know he deserves a family and a home.”
