An elderly Saint Bernard named Old Lady disappeared in the woods of Minnesota and was missing for a fortnight. During this time, she had to rely solely on her shaggy fur to keep herself warm.

After a traumatic event, Ruff Start Rescue’s founder Azure Davis felt like she had lost something precious forever. Though she had only been acquainted with the puppy for a short amount of time, it was still heart-wrenching to know that she was among the 400 dogs rescued from a puppy mill earlier this year.

The elderly dame was supposed to be relocated to a temporary residence, but unfortunately, she didn’t reach there as she went missing. When Old Lady’s foster mother took her out of the vehicle, she was tremendously scared of the sound of ice cracking and ran away in panic.

After realizing that Old Lady was missing, Azure reached out to The Retrievers, a group of volunteers dedicated to finding lost puppies. Old Lady had been gone for a few days, causing concern for her well-being. Azure remarked to The Dodo that despite her advanced age, Old Lady was still quite robust and agile.

As the thermometer dropped to a bone-chilling -10 degrees, the prospects of finding Old Lady were becoming increasingly slim.

The story is about Ruff Start Rescue, where a man and his granddaughters informed the rescue team about a dog that was entangled in the woods. The dog named Old Lady had been dragging her leash for almost 17 days, and the leash had become tangled in the trees. Azure, a member of the rescue team, thanked God for the leash as it helped them locate the dog. Azure and her colleague, Julie, approached the dog with caution, wrapped a fresh leash around her, and freed her from the tree. Azure was relieved to have the dog secured in her car, and they laughed, sobbed, and said their goodbyes with relief. It was a miracle that they found the dog, and she was safe and secure.
