An act of compassion: The kindness of a woman who saves a dog tied to a river anchor during a dog's moment of distress.

While driving one day, Audra Petraškienė and her daughter Andra Petraškienė discovered a dog who was soaked and shivering. Upon closer inspection, they were devastated to learn that someone had cruelly attempted to drown the innocent animal by placing a heavy metal box around its neck, which appeared to be functioning as an anchor to pull it down into the river.

When the Petraškienė family stumbled upon the canine, it was evident that he had been through a harrowing ordeal. Trembling and frightened, it was obvious that the pup had endured a great deal of suffering. Despite his valiant determination to survive, Audra couldn’t help but worry about the lasting damage that such a traumatic experience could inflict on the dog.

The Petraškienės brought the dog to their home, where they removed the anchor and took the animal to the vet. Thankfully, apart from the emotional stress caused by his abuse, the vet confirmed that the dog was in good health. Witnessing this mistreatment of an innocent creature made Audra furious, and she attempted to contact the owner of the dog. She took to Facebook and posted about the situation, which ultimately led her to someone who claimed ownership of the dog.

He claimed that his dog was stolen and someone tried to drown the poor animal by using an anchor. Although Audra managed to locate the true owner of the dog, she still contacted the authorities to clear the innocent person’s name. It was later discovered that the dog and its owner were targets of a malicious revenge scheme and that the culprit behind the dognapping and attempted drowning was none other than the owner’s neighbor.
