Aron was a street, nobody’s cat who was taken off the street by the volunteers of Mandica’s association after receiving a tip. He was a real city vagabond, he was seen and came to feedlots in really remote parts of the city . Last year, the volunteers also had a tip about him because he was covered in tar, he probably fell in somewhere then, but they didn’t manage to catch him because he disappeared from that feeding place again.
Now he had reappeared, and had to be taken care of. On Thursday, March 9, they performed an examination, the analyzes showed that he was positive for leukemia, his kidneys were failing, and urea could not even be measured.
He was on infusion for two hours, calm, good, occasionally he would meow sadly , just like tired cats. When one of the volunteers put him back in the cage, he vomited.
He needed food for cats with kidney disease. They gave him Ipakitin. What they did know was that the next day he was waiting for an infusion again. They just hoped he wasn’t in too much pain, because he had already received 3 injections that day.
The next day, Aaron got new wounds on his head. He scratched himself, so the volunteers characterized it as a possible reaction to the ampoule. However, those wounds were less of a problem. The problem was the kidneys and leukemia. That day, he was on infusion twice, in the morning and in the evening.
He fought for two more days, and then on Sunday, March 12, they announced themselves again. ” Aaron died today, his body did not last. I’m sorry baby, now you don’t have any pain anymore. A big and heartfelt thank you to everyone for their support and help,” the volunteers wrote.
