Arsenal may have missed out on the Premier League title in the 2022/23 season to Manchester City. However, they are currently surpassing their rivals in terms of squad value. Earlier this month, Arsenal climbed to the second position as the club with the second-most valuable squad in the world, after Manchester City. But at the moment, the Gunners have overtaken their opponents in squad value. According to Transfermarkt, the squad value of Arsenal, managed by Mikel Arteta, is now estimated at €1.21 billion.
Manchester City has dropped to the second position, with a total squad value of €1.19 billion. PSG sits in third place and is the last club to reach the €1 billion mark, with a squad value of €1.03 billion.
Real Madrid stands in fourth place on the list with €991 million, while Bayern Munich occupies the fifth position with €895 million. They are followed by Chelsea (€869 million), Barcelona (€865 million), Liverpool (€847 million), Manchester United (€834 million), and Tottenham (€773 million).
The significant increase in Arsenal's squad value is due to their busy transfer window activity. The Gunners have spent €75 million on Kai Havertz, €40 million on Jurrien Timber, and €116.6 million on Declan Rice.
In total, Arsenal has invested €231.6 million this summer, and this might not be the final figure. The Gunners are still searching for a striker to compete with Gabriel Jesus.
After the bitter disappointment of finishing as runners-up in the previous Premier League season, Arsenal is determined to challenge for silverware this season. The extensive reinforcements in their squad demonstrate the serious intent of Arteta and the club's board for the upcoming campaign.
