More than 40 dog and handler teams from 1st Military Working Dogs Regiment recently took part in a ‘Canine Biathlon’, designed push these partnerships to the limit!

The event, in Sennelager, Germany, was a vital opportunity to demonstrate teamwork and endurance.

Would the dogs be willing to work for their humans in the most demanding of circumstances? Would they be able to keep their metal ability in the face physical exhaustion?

All of this of course has real life implications. These dogs have trained for years to make a difference, and are totally devoted to their handlers.

A spokesperson told us, “the Regiment plays a pivotal role in supporting a number of key activities including; counter insurgency operations, the detection of Improvised Explosive Devices, assistance in the searching of routes, buildings and vehicles, enhancing security and patrolling key installations.”
