Bernardo Silva announces decision to leave Manchester City's management board

According to 90min, midfielder Bernardo Silva has reaffirmed to Manchester City's management board that he wants to leave the club this summer.

The 28-year-old player joined Manchester City in the summer of 2017 from Monaco for a fee of £60 million. His contract with the club is set to expire in 2025. Silva has played a crucial role in helping Pep Guardiola's squad achieve a historic treble.

The Champions League title in the 2022/23 season marks Silva's 14th trophy during his time at Manchester City. However, despite continuous success over the past six years, Silva's future at the club has become increasingly uncertain.

He admitted in August 2022, amid links to Barcelona and PSG, that while he is happy at Manchester City, he doesn't know what will happen in the future. In September 2022, 90min revealed that the Portuguese international is one of Barcelona's priority transfer targets, and the Catalan giants even had their offer rejected by Manchester City in January.

Silva had previously informed Manchester City about his intention to seek a new challenge, and 90min reports that he has reaffirmed his desire to leave this summer. On Manchester City's side, they are willing to cooperate if they receive an offer of around £75 million.

It remains to be seen whether Barcelona has the financial means to complete the transfer. However, according to 90min, PSG sees Silva as a potential ideal replacement for Lionel Messi, who has recently moved to Inter Miami.
