Putol, a canine who faced abandonment due to being born with only two legs, has successfully adapted to her circumstances by using her front paws to walk. The six-year-old dog, residing in Casiguran, Quezon City, Philippines, is frequently found running around with her canine companions and exploring the neighborhood streets. Danilo Codilego Jr, Putol’s owner, has played a significant role in ensuring that Putol can balance on her own despite the lack of support from her hind legs. Putol’s name translates to “chopped” in Tagalog, the language prevalent in Luzon.
Putol, a six-year-old from Casiguran in Quezon City, Philippines, was born with only two front legs and left to die.
With the assistance of her owner Danilo Codilego Jr, she has become accustomed to living on her two front paws.
The streets of Casiguran are often witness to the sight of a lively and adventurous dog who loves to run around with her furry friends. This courageous canine has become quite popular in the neighborhood, drawing people towards her. Interestingly enough, her story began when one of Mr. Codilego’s colleagues brought in four puppies to his previous workplace. Being a truck driver, he met the dog six years ago while working at a bakery. The colleague was selling the puppies for 5000 pesos each, but unfortunately, no one wanted the two-legged Putol, as they believed she wouldn’t survive long. However, Mr. Codilego decided to take a chance and take care of her, despite the challenges that came along with it. Since then, the duo has been inseparable, and their bond has grown stronger with every passing day.
Mr. Codilego had a chance encounter with a furry friend when a colleague from his former workplace brought along a litter of four adorable puppies.
In his words, he mentioned that the puppies were up for sale at 5000 pesos or £115. While the other puppies found buyers, unfortunately, no one was interested in Putol who had only two legs.
The adorable dog named Putol was unable to walk during the initial two years of her life. However, she gradually learned to balance herself on her front legs and became very protective of her owner, often guarding his house. According to her owner, Putol acts like a guard dog and barks when strangers are nearby. Although she can get jealous if her owner pays attention to other dogs, she is still friendly and well-liked in the neighborhood. Despite her condition, Putol is not picky about food and enjoys eating whatever her owner eats. Unfortunately, she cannot have puppies due to her physical condition. When her owner has to travel for work, he does not have to worry because everyone takes good care of her.
