All senior canines who haven’t been able to find a home are given a second chance at living out their golden years in luxury and affection at Shep’s Place Senior Dog Sanctuary.

Shep, a 10-year-old beagle and basset hound mix who was adopted by the sanctuary’s founder, Russell Clothier, after being left to her destiny, inspired the name of the organization.

Shep is extremely content in the sanctuary since it is spacious, has a very comfy sofa, and offers the chance to mingle with many dogs who are similar to her.

After starting to assist at numerous shelters and observing how difficult it was for the older animals to find homes, Russell had the brilliant idea to establish this facility for the pups.

Given that the majority of senior dogs are in shelters after being abandoned by their families, this kind guy purchased a home to allow them to live out their final years in comfort.

Sadly, even though they have given these dogs their finest years, not everyone is prepared to pay the costs associated with caring for them as they age.

“Your house is suddenly gone after the first eight or ten years you spent there. It makes us all happy to be able to offer them that sensation once more and turn their remaining years into a great period for them.”
