Despite its imperfect appearance, it is extremely loyal and loving to its owner.

When Meagan Hanley , founder of A Place for Ace Rescue in Massachusetts, first saw a photo of Kleo, she immediately knew she had to do something for her before it was too late.

Kleo was on the death list at a shelter in San Antonio, Texas, and Meagan decided to quickly take her away.

Kleo has been adopted and brought back again, Meagan worried that she won’t be adopted again before being put to sleep.

This dog had a physical characteristic that could affect her adoption. Kleo has a slightly lopsided face and noticeably different underbite than most dogs.

There was something special about Kleo that made Meagan mobilize to look for her. She is currently in foster care in Boston where she is very happy.

She really loves life, and after everything she’s been through the changes don’t affect her. Brianne Miers, her foster mom, never ceases to be amazed at how amazing she is.

“Kleo makes the most of every day. She really has a zest for life. When she opens the door to her house in the morning it’s like being shot from a cannon. She is a ball of energy and she loves to come and go. She is curious about all the new sights and smells around her, and she is very smart,” said Brianne.

Brianne has raised many dogs before Kleo, but none have been quite like her.

Kleo does not perceive that he is something different from the rest of the furry ones, but people do notice him and that has precisely influenced his adoption.

“She snorts a little when she gets excited and because of her bite she can get a little messy when she drinks water or eats a crunchy snack. Otherwise, she is a normal, happy, healthy dog. Fortunately, she doesn’t know that she is different from any other dog. I’ve seen people give her a look as we pass, but she follows her lead happy of her,” Brianne added.

Kleo is a very special dog. She would do better in a family with only older children, and she is excitable to live with cats.

She is looking for a family with an active lifestyle and would make a great running or walking partner. She is very intelligent and definitely needs to be entertained at home with toys, puzzles, bones or another dog to play with.

“Kleo was listed for adoption along with 20 other dogs, and they all found families pretty quickly. Unfortunately, she hasn’t received any serious interest.” Brianna added.

All Kleo is looking for is love and acceptance . It’s been hard watching all the other dogs get adopted before Kleo, but even so, his foster family knows the right family will come along eventually.

While Kleo doesn’t get adopted, she will continue to explore and enjoy life in her foster home. Everyone is very happy to help her and take care of her until a family gives her a loving forever home.
