For a blissful seven years, they resided in the Italian countryside until something unfortunate happened to Leonardo. He fell into some mishap that required him to seek treatment at the nearby hospital, leaving his beloved son, Fulmine, behind without proper care. Fulmine missed Leonardo terribly and would frequently run to the gate every time a car approached, as confirmed by Leonardo’s daughter, Sara Sechi.
In the previous month, the unfortunate man was unable to cope with the situation and passed away without bidding farewell to his loyal four-legged friend. For two days, the little dog went missing, leaving everyone puzzled about its whereabouts. Eventually, Sara discovered Fulmine’s location. The day after the funeral, Sara and her son visited the village cemetery to place additional flowers on Leonardo’s tomb. To their amazement, they discovered the little brown dog lying there, paying homage to his beloved owner.
After spending a considerable amount of time, Fulmine finally mustered the courage to stand up. He made his way towards the doghouse that Leonardo had set up for him, but he was still feeling down and had no appetite.
Fulmine continued to visit the cemetery even after his initial visit. According to reports from their neighbours, Fulmine was seen heading towards the cemetery on a daily basis to visit his departed friend. The cemetery was located two kilometres away from his home and there was no one who guided Fulmine on how to get there. Nevertheless, he managed to find his way back to Leonardo’s resting place every day.
