Embracing the Beauty: Celebrating the Unique Qualities of Newborns with Down Syndrome
"Spreading Love and Awareness: Adorable Photoshoot for Down Syndrome Association"
Eight-month-old Eliza and fourteen-month-old Jojia participated in a heartwarming photoshoot to raise awareness and funds for the Down Syndrome Association. The project, organized by midwives in Leicestershire, aimed to celebrate the uniqueness of Down Syndrome and dispel any misconceptions.
Down Syndrome is caused by the presence of an extra chromosome, resulting in 47 chromosomes instead of the usual 46. This genetic variation can impact the way their bodies develop. Named after British doctor John Langdon Down, who first described the condition in 1866, the photoshoot beautifully portrays the joy and love that children with Down Syndrome bring to the world.
“Then 2 amazing babies joined us, one who has had major heart surgery, and wow did they smile for the camera
“We are really hoρing that we can get as much awareness out as ρossible”
