It’s a sad fact that around 1.5 million dogs are abandoned and mistreated to the point of being euthanized each year. However, there’s always a glimmer of hope in the form of kind-hearted individuals who take it upon themselves to rescue these poor animals. One such case involves Beaux, an adorable Labrador with a disfigured face who was facing an uncertain future. Fortunately, his current owner took one look at him and knew he deserved a loving home.
At Bright Side, we find Beaux’s story absolutely charming and inspiring. That’s why we’ve chosen to share it with you today.
Beaux, who shared his mother’s womb with six siblings, was born with an abnormal skull. Despite having no effect on his motor skills, his breeders could not find anyone willing to adopt this unfortunate puppy. Eventually, he was given away, but his life did not improve significantly.
Beaux was adopted by negligent people who left him chained up in the garden without any attention or flea treatment. This went on for five years until his owners decided to move out and have him adopted. It was at this point that Jamie crossed paths with Beaux.
Jamie shared that she was shocked by the condition Beaux was in when she went to see him after discovering the adoption post online. Beaux had lost a lot of weight and only weighed 19 kg. Additionally, he had parasites all over his body.
As soon as Jamie laid eyes on the adorable puppy, she knew that it was love at first sight. However, she soon discovered that Beaux was suffering from a serious illness known as “heartworm”. Despite being underweight and unable to receive proper treatment, Jamie was determined to help him recover. She patiently stood by his side and dedicated all the time needed to nurse him back to health. As a result of her care and devotion, Beaux is now healthier and happier than ever before.
Beaux, who has been neglected in the past, is now receiving the attention and affection he rightly deserves. Interestingly, just like many humans, he enjoys eating tacos. Additionally, Beaux has a 15-year-old older sibling named Riley, with whom he has a great relationship. Beaux spends his days happily playing with Riley, going for walks with his human mother, and cuddling up close to his loved ones.
