Harnessing the Strength of Love and Backing: Embracing Happiness with a Noseless Infant
Before Eli Thompson's birth, his father playfully expressed hope that their son would not inherit his own looks.
However, when the precious child entered the world, a solemn and fearful silence enveloped the room.
Brandi McGlathery, the child's mother, immediately sensed that something was wrong and immediately became concerned.
She said, “I stepped back and yelled, 'Something's wrong!'” The doctor replied, “No, he's perfectly fine.” I immediately exclaimed: “He has no nose!”
The boy was born without a nose and faced many health complications
He was 'very, very smart and fun, always smiling and punching people in the face,' Finch told Al.com. Photos of Finch and Eli together show the boy spreading his tiny fist wide to keep up with his father's fist.
She said the fact that he didn't have a muzzle "didn't bother him at all."
Although Finch says they will never understand why this happened, he added that he is "so lucky to have such an amazing child in his life.
Five days after being admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit at Children's & Women's Hospital, Brandi McGlathery reported that the infant had undergone a tracheostomy.
“The nurses here and at Ronald McDonald House went above and beyond,” she commented. "The nurse in the cabin visited her 'lover' for a checkup." She developed an attraction to him.
