Bristol, a little dog, has a lot of love to give, but it mostly goes to her father, Nathan McNeese.
You might say Bristol has adopted him as her own. And she isn’t scared to express it.
Alicia McNeese, McNeese’s wife, in particular.
Bristol has been the McNeeses’ pet since she was a puppy, however she appears to have a different perspective on her place in the family. It’s all about her and Nathan in the little dog’s head.
“My husband is her go-to person,” Alicia told The Dodo. “It’s incredible how close they are.”
Bristol loves Nathan and has no desire to go with him.
Bristol has created a special look exclusively for Alicia to let her know she isn’t interested in sharing Nathan’s devotion. The message comes clearly and loudly.
“I’m sorry, Mom, but he’s my boyfriend,” Alicia explained.
This implicit rivalry for Nathan’s affection manifests itself in a variety of ways, such as in this scenario from a recent road trip. Bristol didn’t seem to like the fact that Alicia was riding shotgun.
Alicia explained, “At first, my head was resting on my husband’s shoulder.” “She replaced my head with hers when I lifted mine.”
Here’s a video of that moment:
Bristol is the one who will be resting his head on Nathan.
“I believe she was thinking to herself, ‘He’s my human.’ Alicia said, ‘Move on over, Mom.’
Understood?
To her credit, Alicia seems unconcerned that Bristol has claimed her husband as her own. After all, she likes Bristol as well.
“When she wants to be,” Alicia said, “she is sweet.”
Nathan, on the other hand, is acutely aware of the domestic rivalry for his affection. In fact, it appears that he would like it that way.
“My spouse takes it all in,” Alicia explained.
