While on patrol in the industrial area of the city, Officer O’Hanlon saw the small puppy and suspected it may be lost. However, upon closer inspection, it appeared that the puppy had been abandoned as it had no collar and seemed to be injured. Fortunately, the odds were in the dog’s favor as it was discovered and could receive the care it needed.

According to the officer who spoke with ABC 7, finding a lost dog is usually a straightforward process as they often have identification tags or microchips that lead to their owners. In this case, Officer O’Hanlon took the adorable 3-month-old puppy to the local animal shelter for further assistance. However, during the journey, the puppy’s cuteness captured the officer’s heart, even though he knew it was best not to get attached. Despite this, the officer couldn’t resist and decided to adopt the pup from the shelter shortly after.

Officer O’Hanlon shared his heartwarming story of adopting a pit bull puppy that he found injured while on duty. After dropping the puppy off at a shelter, O’Hanlon couldn’t resist calling back to claim him as his own. The puppy had no microchip and had to stay at the shelter for a few days to receive treatment for his wound. Once he fully recovered, O’Hanlon and his fiancée welcomed the puppy, whom they named Thor, into their home. They chose the name due to their love for Marvel and thought it was fitting based on the puppy’s injury.
