Despite the responsibilities of parents to care for and nurture their child, unfortunate incidents occur where pregnancies are unintentionally terminated or babies are abandoned shortly after birth.
In a heartwarming incident that took place this month in the village of Salistal in Lori, India, locals discovered a newborn baby girl who had been living alone in a den for several days, surrounded by energetic puppies.
The baby, named Akanksha, was found naked with her umbilical cord still attached. She was nestled among the puppies, providing warmth and comfort. Munnalal Patel, a local resident, heard the baby crying while he was going about his daily chores.
"At 11 in the morning, we were astonished to find a lively baby girl crying and lying beside the puppies in our village," he said. "We immediately alerted the health department and the baby was taken to the hospital for further examination."
People marveled at how the baby survived the cold temperatures of the previous night. It was believed that the puppies huddled around her, sharing their body heat and keeping her alive. The locals also mentioned that initially, a mother dog had taken care of Akanksha and later brought her to her own puppies.
"It's likely the warmth provided by the puppies and their mother that kept this baby girl alive. Normally, the temperature drops significantly at night, especially in December. I must say, it's her sheer luck," shared an anonymous witness.
While stray dogs are often perceived as aggressive, it was fortunate that they did not harm the baby. Medical professionals confirmed that the little one had not suffered any injuries. Currently, she is being cared for by the Child Line Design, and authorities are conducting an investigation to locate her parents.
Child abandonment is both illegal and morally wrong. As parents, it is our responsibility to provide proper care and love for our children, ensuring they receive the support they deserve.
