In Primorye, a wild forest cat appeared, and a hunter captured and recorded its beautiful images.!!

According to siberian-tiger.ru , the kitten was sitting in a bird cage, covered with a homemade blanket.

It is assumed that the wildcat cub fell into the hands of poachers who tried to keep him as an exotic pet. However, as is often the case with wild animals, they did not succeed, since the cat was not tamed at all.

The forest kitten met the employees of the center with a hiss and claws at the ready.

A little later, the cat was transferred to the local Center for the rehabilitation of tigers and other animals. There, the cat was named Barabash , in honor of the name of the village where it was discovered.

A forest cat is not an animal that is often encountered in a rehabilitation center. For Barabash, there was not even an enclosure suitable for his size, and therefore he was placed in a quarantine block, where they tried to create comfortable conditions for him with the opportunity to hunt.

The fact is that although the cat retained a cautious behavior towards humans, his hunting skills were not developed to perfection, and since it was decided to release the cat later into the wild, he had to be prepared for it.

The Far Eastern forest cat or Amur forest cat ( Prionailurus bengalensis euptilurus ) is the northern subspecies of the Bengal cat. It is similar in size and weight to a domestic cat, but looks more massive. Lives mainly in the area of the Amur River in the Far East. The exact number is not known.

Barabash was offered live quail to train his hunting skills. From the first hunts, it was clear that the cat had very little hunting experience, but every day the cat becomes more dexterous.

The staff of the center tried to create conditions for him so that he could fully prepare for an independent life and he could be released this year. It is difficult and expensive to keep an animal in the center on live food.

But by the end of November, it became clear that the staff of the center coped with the task!

“We have decided to release the Far Eastern cat Barabash while it is warm and full of mice. Now the temperature is above zero in the village of Alekseevka.

“Now the cat is walking back and forth, mastering new possessions. He returns to the laid out food. And we will still leave food so that he can refresh himself at any time if necessary.

The year of the mouse, they are even on the camera trap, they even climb into household containers, so there is wild food. We’ll leave the camera trap and see if he continues to feed. His fatness is excellent, his mood too.

We are grateful to everyone who helped us feed the forest animal. We really hope that his life will be long and happy!
