This poor guy has had a rough few months. We were called out on March 2 to pick Tiernan up after he was left behind in an apartment when his owner moved out. He was never reclaimed, and had been at the shelter up until last week, when one of our volunteers, Halee, began fostering him to give him a bit of a break from the shelter. Tiernan is pretty energetic and was getting depressed in the shelter environment.
Halee says ” Tiernan is an absolutely angel. When I brought him home he seemed like he didn’t know what a bed was. He was extremely hesitant to get up, but once he did, he snuggled right up to me and went to sleep. He has the cutest snore. Tiernan is potty trained, crate trained, needs a bit of leash training but does super well on a gentle leader, and loves chew toys.
He does well with most dogs, but prefers females. He loves running around at the doggie park as long as other dogs aren’t there, loves walks, treats and people. He does amazing in the car. Tiernan truly is a dog that just loves people and being loved. He is down to do anything whether it be go for a walk, play at the park, go out and about or just snuggle on the couch. The moment he cuddles up to you he starts snoring and falls asleep. He is so deserving of a loving home!”
We would recommend a home with no cats or small animals, but he has done well with other larger dogs for the most part, with a slow and proper introduction.
We would love to see Tiernan get adopted ASAP so he doesn’t have to return to the shelter. He attended an adoption event yesterday, but sadly did not meet a forever family there.
Please email [email protected] if you’d be interested in meeting him. After a long two months waiting, Tiernan is ready to find his forever home!
