When he was still less than a year old, Milton met his foster mom, Kiki, a compassionate soul and founder of Saving Steve , a nonprofit organization based in Nashville.
Despite his poor health, Milton’s will came through knowing he had found the perfect person who would never give up on him. Milton faced an uphill battle with various health problems . His hind legs were paralyzed, which made him almost immobile.
Immediate medical attention and plenty of tender, loving care were necessary to improve his quality of life. After consulting with the veterinarians, Kiki discovered that Milton was also struggling with orthopedic and neurological challenges. Unfortunately, his hind legs had to be amputated because they became a burden and a source of discomfort, but there was hope for his front legs.
Physical therapy was prescribed to strengthen and improve his mobility . In addition, Milton underwent basic procedures such as castration, microchipping and treatment for breathing and bladder problems. Despite his physical limitations, Milton’s playful and joyful spirit remained intact. He had a penchant for dinosaurs, stuffed toys and brain teasers.
Milton’s love for food knew no bounds. However, above all, his deepest affection was reserved for his foster mother, whom he showered with tender kisses. Their relationship grew stronger every day, and when Kiki announced Milton’s adoption, she immediately changed her mind.
Kiki has made it clear that all pleas for adoption will be ignored as Milton stays by her side. She knew in her heart that she would never be able to part with her beloved feline companion. The gratitude Kiki felt for having Milton in her life was immeasurable.
Everyday activities became magical when shared with him. “On days when I’m feeling down, watching Milton embrace life is the only thing that can put a smile on my face. Enriching Milton’s life, in turn, enriched mine. He is truly my sunshine,” she said.
Despite the obstacles he has encountered, he consistently radiates joy and serves as an inspiration to all he meets.
