Mount's love for Chelsea was divided by MU _ Football

Mason Mount has been with Chelsea like flesh and blood for the past 18 years. At first, he did not want to leave his beloved home. But the attractive offer of MU with 4 times the salary and the crisis at Chelsea made Mount betray his love for the Blues.

Mount may be in 'mixed emotions', between excitement at the new challenge and 'fresh start at Man United' with the thrill of leaving Chelsea. He joined Chelsea at the age of 6 and always aimed to start for the club's first team.

Watching close friends like Declan Rice let go of each other only increased his determination to push himself to achieve his dreams. Even with his family worried about the fact that academy players are unlikely to make it to the Chelsea first team, Mount is undaunted and insists he is not going anywhere.

Mount fulfilled his dream in 2019. He made his debut on August 11, in the home team's 0-4 loss at MU's field. That could be a harbinger for the player's future. But at that time, Mount was just excited about Chelsea.

And Mount's efforts were well rewarded when he twice won the Club Player of the Year award in seasons 2020/21 and 2021/22. Along with that are big and small titles such as Champions League, European Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup as well as 3 FA Cup runners-up and 1 League Cup runner-up.

Mount once broke down with emotion when he won the Champions League 2020/21 with The Blues. “Chelsea is my blood. I love this club this, I love these fans ," he said.

Mount từng có tình yêu mãnh liệt với Chelsea nhưng vì nhiều lý do, anh không thể gắn bó trọn đời với CLBMount used to have a strong love for Chelsea but for many reasons, he could not stay with the club for life

However, just over a year after receiving the Chelsea Player of the Year award for the second time in a row, Mount is again on his way to MU, with a medical scheduled to take place early next week.

From Chelsea's point of view, Mount's departure is a sad ending and will raise questions around how that was allowed to happen, how did that relationship fall apart. someone who always considers Chelsea to be at the core like Mount.

At one time, tying Mount to a long-term contract was described as the easiest deal to make. At least from the start, his plan was always to stay at Chelsea.

But now, some people at Stamford Bridge also can't deny that money is ultimately the most feared magic. They have asked Mount three times to extend with a maximum salary of £ 200,000 per week. But Mount refused because he no longer wanted to stay or sign a new deal.

Mount did not perceive Chelsea's seriousness and appreciation for him. This player has dropped in form in the 2022/23 season. With the addition of many new stars, Chelsea no longer considers keeping Mount a priority.

Tiền bạc và những lời hứa hẹn của MU đã khiến Mount thay lòngMU's money and promises have changed Mount's heart

By the summer of 2023, Chelsea were limited in spending and they were forced to sell players to balance the budget. Mount is a "homegrown" player, and selling him will bring the biggest profit.

The new owners do not want to keep the stars  the contract of Chelsea is about to expire. And Mount is in this area. He signed a 5-year contract in July 2019, and now has only 1 year left on his contract.

Seizing this opportunity, MU has jumped in to flirt with attractive promises. Accordingly,  Mount will receive a base salary of £250,000/week, not to mention a bonus that can push that figure to £300,000/week.

This would make Mount the fourth highest-paid player at MU, behind Raphael Varane (£340,000/week), Casemiro (£350,000/week) and Jadon Sancho (£350,000/week).

In addition, coach Erik ten Hag also promises to make Mount the center of MU's play. The Red Devils also showed their determination to recruit him, when four times increased the purchase price before closing the £60 million, including £55 million upfront and £5 million in extra fees.

MU's determination has moved Mount. He is right in looking for a more attractive and profitable destination than a Chelsea in crisis both financially and in form. Chelsea do not have tickets to the Champions League next season, and will start the season with a new  coach and a series of new stars.

There may still be Chelsea fans who blame Mount for betraying love to choose  money. But the life of a player is not too long and everyone has to make a choice at some point. Because no one wants to fall into an ungrateful scene with titles like Harry Kane.

Reece James is the exception
While his teammates left one after another, Reec James was still determined to stay at Chelsea. After Kai Havertz joined Arsenal, one Gunners fan wrote on Twitter: “Reece James to Arsenal. Who said no?" And James immediately replied: "I said no". James still has five years left on his contract with Chelsea and is one of the core pieces for coach Mauricio Pochettino to build the team in the coming years.
