"Neglected Dog Struggles to Survive in Trash Heap with Severe Facial Tumor"

Not long ago, while inspecting the fire safety of homes in the town of Wallasey, Merseyside, England, employees of the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service noticed a foul stench. The stench emanating from a locked house. Terrified, they were forced to break the door and go inside when they saw a very heartbreaking scene.

Every room in the house was flooded with garbage, and the floor was littered with dog poop, urine and other unbearable stench. Lying quietly on a filthy sofa in the middle of the living room was an old dog about 16 years old, a hybrid Collie, looking very sad and hungry. That dog’s name was Timmy, and one of his cheeks was covered with a heavy, bleeding tumor.

Anthony Joynes, who was in charge of the investigation, recounted:

“The stench from the outside of the house was terrible enough, and flies were flying everywhere, but when we stepped inside, the ammonia smell was so strong it burned my eyes. burning. In my experience, when you walk into homes where dogs are locked up in such horrible conditions, they are usually either happy to see you or very angry, but Timmy doesn’t react. nothing.

There was no food and water left.

It just lay still on the sofa looking very sad, like it had completely given up. It’s already broken. Its condition at that time was terrible. It was full of feces and rotting food. It looks like he’s had to go to the toilet in the house for the past several months. It had neither food nor water, and on its face was a very scary lump, which was torn and bleeding.

It was really painful at the time. An old dog like Timmy should have spent the last days of his life on a comfy sofa in front of a warm fireplace, cared for and loved.”

The tumor was very large and heavy on the face.

Immediately, Timmy was taken to the pet care center in Merseyside, cared for and examined. Although very worried that the tumor was so large on the face that it could lead to cancer or stick to the bone, the doctors decided to surgically remove it. Fortunately, the surgery was successful, the tumor was completely removed and it was not dangerous or affecting Timmy’s life.

Currently, Timmy has completely recovered from the surgery, and he is living very happily with his new owner, an employee working at the clinic. Contrary to his sad appearance, Timmy is quite happy and gets along with everyone, not only that, he also befriends another dog in the house and the two live together in harmony as longtime friends. .

As for Timmy’s former owner, a 60-year-old woman named Christine Daley, because she refused to take the dog to the doctor and treat the tumor on her face, as well as not take care of it, she was sentenced to 4 weeks in prison. with a two-year deferral of execution, a fine of £1,075 (more than VND 31 million) and a 10-year ban from owning pets.
