Photo as They Simultaneously Experience Pregnancy – Now Their Daughters Continue the Tradition
Two sisters who were pregnant at the same time have recreated a heartwarming childhood photo of themselves with balloons under their dresses. Their nostalgic picture from childhood became a reality, except this time, their babies were real and not balloons.
Bri Dietz, aged 35, and her sister Chaûlet Barba, aged 33, hailing from San Diego, were overjoyed when they found out they were both going to be pregnant simultaneously.

When sisters Brie Dietz, aged 35, and Chaûlet Barba, aged 33, were 6 and 4 years old respectively, they couldn't have foreseen that their childhood pretend pregnancies would eventually come true.
Growing up, Bri and Chaûlet shared a strong bond, spending their time playing with dolls and pretending to be mothers. Even now, they maintain their connection by talking on the phone every day.
"When we discovered we were pregnant together, I mentioned, 'Do you recall that picture?'" Dietz shared. "It immediately surfaced in my mind, probably 25 years later, and I still vividly remember it!"
After conducting some searching, Barba discovered the 1990s photograph of them, both with curlers in their hair and balloons beneath their nightgowns. The sisters then replicated the photo once again, this time standing side by side, lifting their shirts to unveil their visibly pregnant bellies.
Dietz became a mother to her now 2-year-old daughter, Goldie, in October 2019, while Barba welcomed her own 1-year-old daughter, Gemma, in January 2020, just a few months afterwards.

Presently, the young girls share an incredibly close bond, much like their mothers did and still do. The two moms decided to extend the photoshoot even further, replicating their childhood balloon picture with their offspring. This has resulted in a triptych of images, featuring the newest snapshot of Goldie and Gemma posing with their own under-nightdress balloons.
"We were fortunate to have the opportunity to recreate that," Dietz, now a mother of three, remarked about the decades-long photo series. "It not only brought things full circle from playing that as a child, but it also created a special sisterly moment."

She aspires for her, her sister, and their daughters' heartwarming photoshoots to serve as a reminder of the enchanting moments families share during girlhood.
"Numerous girls can connect with that innocent childhood period when you're playfully engaging with your siblings," Dietz expressed. "I hope it prompts people to recollect that precious time when you're in your own little world with your siblings, something that's challenging to replicate in our busy day-to-day lives."
