Pooches left behind by their owners during relocation are confined in cages among trash _ DogsCuteNo1

Allen Boartfield, a volunteer for Dream Fetchers: Project Rescue, was jolted awake by a distressing phone call. The caller reported that two small dogs had been discovered beside a pile of garbage in Barstow, California. Upon arrival, Allen learned that the dogs, named Treasure and Catch, had been abandoned by their owner who had been evicted. The individual had packed up their belongings and left the dogs locked in a cage amidst a heap of used clothing and blankets intended for disposal. Miraculously, Treasure and Catch were still present when Allen arrived, yet it was evident that the abandonment had taken its toll on them.

In an interview with The Dodo, Allen shared that both dogs were terrified when she first met them. However, one of the dogs, Catch, was not as quick to warm up to her as the other, Treasure. Despite this, Catch still did her best to protect her sister and even gave Allen a couple of pinches on the hand due to her fear and confinement. Nevertheless, both dogs were able to receive the help they needed from Allen.

Allen mentioned that Catch was situated near Treasure and had developed a strong attachment to him. He was so smitten with Treasure that he overcame his fear and ran across Allen’s lap to be in the same kennel as him when Treasure was relocated to another one. After their relocation, the two dogs were taken to Camino Pet Hospital in Irvine, California for an assessment without any delay.

According to the hospital’s rescue coordinator, Hedy Herold, Catch and Treasure were brought to them with apparent sadness and despair. Treasure was agitated to the point of discomfort and caused some trouble for the staff. Unfortunately, they had to be separated since Catch caught a cold and required isolation for treatment. After a couple of days, Treasure was ready for grooming and surgery, which led to her becoming a happy and sociable puppy.

As I approach her cozy abode, my furry friend eagerly wriggles and groans in anticipation of her release. To me, it’s more than just a cage; I like to call it her “chamber.” As soon as I unlock the door, she jumps into my arms with excitement, planting sweet kisses on my face and making charming noises. Before I check on Catch, I shower her with lots of affectionate rubs and strokes.
