Poor little dog bald with devastating sores all over his body is in need of prayer to stay alive.!!

ilovemydogsomuch writes that Pixie’s backstory is a bit mysterious. She was found wandering on her own in the neighborhood. Small and vulnerable, she was found. She appeared to be burnt intentionally due to the state of her skin

Her skin wasn’t actually burned but Pixie had a terrible case of mange. Her mange had gotten so bad that it invaded every spot on her tiny body. She was covered in bad sores from all her scratching. She was also malnourished. You could tell she would be a large breed dog and at only 6 weeks, she weighed only 4 pounds.

Pixie was fostered by Daphne Bragg, an employee of the shelter. Daphne had a puppy very similar to Pixie that had been making tremendous progress, so she was happy to do the same for her.

At first, Pixie had no idea how to “dog” but with Daphne’s help, and the assistance of Daphne’s other dogs, Pixie began to learn how to play, how to eat and drink water, and how to be one of the pack.

Daphne’s dog Elliot started out a lot like Pixie. He too had terrible skin issues. This is a photo of the dogs side by side! #Twinning

It didn’t take long for Elliott and Pixie to become best friends. Eventually, Pixie learned how to live as a dog in a household as they bonded over their trauma. As a result of the medicated baths, Pixie’s skin began to heal and her tiny fur began to sprout. Daphne thinks she’s going to be a natural redhead

PUPdate: The little fighter stayed with Daphne and her dogs for 6 weeks and in that time, she grew confident and very loving. She now has a new family and is a very happy puppy.

This story shows us how important it is to foster. Dogs like Pixie could never thrive without proper foster care. If you have ever considered fostering dogs, please watch the video below! Pixie’s story is very inspiring. Pass this along so more people will open their homes, and their hearts, to animals who need help.
