Rio Ferdinand and Quinton Fortune once bullied Cristiano Ronaldo when he just arrived at Old Trafford.
The Portuguese superstar in his first period at Man United proved himself and became one of the best players in the world. He played for the Red Devils between 2003 and 2009, helping the team win 3 Premier Leagues, 1 Champions League and 1 FIFA Club World Cup.
Back in his early days at Old Trafford, Rio Ferdinand revealed something few could have known. The former Manchester United midfielder, along with another legend, bullied CR7 to the point of making him cry on the training ground.
“Me and a guy named Quinton Fortune… we used to bully him a lot. [Ronaldo] was a lot younger than us at the time but maybe bullying to some degree, like trying to build his ability to resist and rise up.” - Rio Ferdinand told the radio show Kyle and Jackie O.
The former player also revealed about table tennis matches with Ronaldo in Carrington, when the Portuguese player was in tears every time he lost.
“We usually play every other day before training, as part of a warm-up session. I used to knock him down all the time. He also beat me… it was a contest between me and him, first and second, like [Roger] Federer and [Rafael] Nadal. If that match were recorded and broadcast, it would definitely break records. Cristiano used to almost cry, he's very competitive."
