A video captured by activist Lolys Menchaka, who collaborates with California’s Inland Valley Humane Society Foundation, depicted the emotional moment of the four-year-old pitbull realizing she had been abandoned at a shelter. She seemed to understand that the shelter was a temporary cage for abandoned dogs.
Electra, as she was named, had a gentle disposition and had never shown any signs of aggression, making her abandonment all the more difficult to comprehend. Menchaka sadly highlighted that Electra’s experience was not an isolated case, stating, “Electra represents the face of sadness and the harsh reality within shelters.”
While it remains unclear whether Electra was abandoned on the street or directly delivered to the shelter, the IVHSF members worked diligently to alleviate the depression faced by these abandoned animals and ensure their well-being. Menchaka expressed her confusion and sadness, saying, “I can’t understand why it is so easy for them to just abandon these poor animals.”
Fortunately, Electra’s sadness did not persist for long. With the support of Tiffany Fan, a member and founder of JL Rescue, she found a temporary home with Adriane Silvano. The temporary arrangement soon turned permanent as Electra’s loving personality won over her caretakers’ hearts.
Tiffany provides updates on Electra’s adoption, noting her sociable nature and excellent compatibility with other dogs, children, and all family members. Electra has left behind the feelings of depression and abandonment, allowing her loving personality to shine through. Tiffany shares, “She became a completely different dog. She was happy, she was on the couch, she wanted to snuggle up.”
