Meghan Umphres Leatherman persisted in weightlifting as a demanding component of her fitness regimen, which also incorporated gymnastics and cardio exercises, even as she approached the moment of childbirth and reached 1cm dilation.

The 33-year-old from Arizona, USA, astonishingly continued lifting weights even on the day she began experiencing labor, having already achieved remarkable milestones in the final stages of her pregnancy.

Meghan firmly believes that her exercise routine, which included daily three-mile walks with her dog and weekly four-mile hikes in the mountains, posed no danger to her unborn baby. On the contrary, she maintains that these activities actually made her pregnancy easier and contributed to the overall health of her baby.

Having recently given birth to her daughter, Florence Germaine, earlier this month, Meghan is already eagerly anticipating her return to the gym in less than a month, eager to resume her fitness journey.

The marketing and communications consultant shared, "I have consulted with my doctor, and she has given me the green light to return to the gym within three weeks. CrossFit, which has been a part of my exercise regimen, is something I would never give up. Being fit played a crucial role in my ability to conceive, and it helped me maintain good health throughout my pregnancy."

Meghan discovered her passion for weightlifting two years ago, and she quickly became hooked on the transformative effects it had on her body.

She emphasized, "During pregnancy, the thought of quitting never crossed my mind. I remained committed to my fitness routine."

NEW RECORDS: The мuм-of-one set new personal records during her final days of pregnancy
"I find great motivation in working alongside others within a supportive community, striving to become stronger, fitter, and better. Being pregnant didn't diminish that drive for me."

Meghan went a step further by asserting that weightlifting actually prevented her from experiencing morning sickness, and being pregnant made it surprisingly easier for her to lift heavy weights. Just three days before her due date, she accomplished a personal record by deadlifting 215 pounds. Additionally, she was successfully performing 110-pound push presses and 165-pound squats, witnessing a remarkable surge in energy levels and strength as her delivery date approached.

Despite facing criticism aimed at expecting mothers who continue exercising, Meghan proudly declares that her doctors have provided unwavering support for her fitness regimen. She affirms, "I have received incredible encouragement from my doctors for what I am doing."
