The hungry cat had slipped its head into the jar of mayonnaise and couldn’t get it out. However, the situation was serious, because the risks of asphyxiation and dehydration were real. The driver got out of his vehicle to rescue the animal . But frightened this one escaped. Sensing that the task would be more complex than he had imagined, the driver decides to call several rescuers , including those from Tabby’s Place .
” I got a phone call from someone who sounded a little crazy and said he was driving by an old abandoned farmhouse and saw some cats and one of them they had a pot on their head. He didn’t know what to do or how to take it away from him ,” Jonathan Rosenberg , the founder of Tabby’s Place,
Rescuers arrive on the scene to catch the animal
Danielle Rice , the feline operations manager, left with a few colleagues to search for the cat and help her get her head out of the mayonnaise jar. It took a whole day to catch the startled feline . Although the mayonnaise jar prevented him from seeing properly, he was very fast.
“ Danielle found the owner [of the farm] and there was a bunch of cats living there. The woman said she fed them, but she didn’t know there was one with a pot on her head. She was very angry and asked us for help. »
“ Incredibly, even with a pot on his head, he was very difficult to catch. Eventually, Danielle saw a piece of cat poking out from between two boards of the barn. It looked like her behind, so she just grabbed it and turned out it was him. »
Rescuers immediately took the cat to a veterinarian . Removing the potty was very complicated and the condition of the cat was uncertain . Moreover, it was a wild cat, no one could predict its reaction , especially since it had almost never had contact with men .
“ Sometimes children can’t get out of certain situations and it’s worse for a cat. The ears fold over and then they don’t necessarily go the other way. A cat does not have the ability to push its ears back into place. »
The cat was able to be freed from its jar of mayonnaise
The veterinarian removed the pot and took the opportunity to castrate the animal . Then, having to complete the administrative papers, he needed a name . Danielle opted for Hellman . The animal was released to its family. The animal jumped out of its cage and disappeared into the tall grass.
