No less than 3 fire and rescue centers were mobilized to put out the flames that devoured a Texas house. Inside it, a cat lost consciousness and had to be found and rescued as soon as possible.
The rescue took place on Tuesday August 16 in Chandler , Texas. That evening, around 8:30 p.m. local time, the Brownsboro , Smith County , and Chandler brigades responded to the fire that broke out at a homestead.
The occupants, including their dog, managed to evacuate the premises in time, but not their cat Nala . Under the influence of panic, the latter had escaped from the arms of her masters while they left the house in the grip of the flames. The feline rushed back inside.
Firefighters from the Chandler Fire Department tackled the blaze from the back of the house, while their colleagues from Brownsboro and Smith tackled the front.
Fire troopers came in to look for Nala , whom they eventually found hiding under the bed in the parents’ bedroom. She was losing consciousness from the smoke she had inhaled and the extreme heat.
Returned home unscathed after spending the night in the veterinary clinic
They quickly evacuated her, then the rescuers began to resuscitate her. They used a pet oxygen mask and worked to bring his body temperature down. A few minutes later, Nala slowly regained her senses.
Her owner immediately took her to the veterinary emergency room in Tyler , about a twenty-minute drive away. The cat was placed under observation during the night, and was able to return home the next morning, safe and sound.
