It’s a devastating snapshot of a friend in grief.
Captured on the side of a road, this poignant image portrays a Great Pyrenees dog refusing to abandon their deceased companion's side.
The dog, who had been struck by a vehicle, remained in a vigilant posture, resembling a statue, as they quietly kept watch over their companion's lifeless body.
Upon noticing the dog, bystanders quickly dialed the local animal shelter to report the situation. A compassionate volunteer promptly arrived at the scene to provide assistance to the dog.
According to the rescuer, "He is undoubtedly displaying loyalty to a departed friend and expressing his grief."
"It's evident that (the other dog) was struck on the road; you can see the blood on the pavement. It seems like he dragged her onto the grass to keep her away from the road," said the rescuer.
It is still unknown if the dog is a stray or if it was lost. It was unambiguous nevertheless that it cared for its friend.
“Whether it was his friend in his yard at home or if they met up as strays, but something compelled him stay by her side.”
The Loyal dog was also injurt in his back legs. The volunteer buried the deceased one and brought the other with him home. bathed him and gived him a delicious lunch.
He has other rescue dogs so the poor puppy was really happy with other dogs.
