Introducing Manushi, the Baby Girl from Udaipur, Rajasthan. Her Birth and Survival Story Are Nothing Short of Miracles.
Manushi was born 12 weeks prematurely due to complications in her mother's pregnancy, weighing a mere 400 grams and measuring just 8.6 inches. Her birth weight was less than even a chocolate bar. Delivered via emergency cesarean section in June 2017, she faced immense challenges from the start.
Immediately after birth, there were no signs of her breathing. Her lungs, heart, brain, and kidneys were underdeveloped, and her skin was delicate like paper. Her feet were no longer than a thumbnail. The chances of her survival were incredibly slim, at only 0.5 percent. However, her parents refused to lose hope and fought for her against all odds.
They immediately transferred their tiny daughter to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Jivanta Children's Hospital in Udaipur. The dedicated medical team at the hospital embarked on every possible effort to save her life, providing the necessary medical assistance and taking precautions to prevent infections. Given that she had lost even more weight than her birth weight, her life was at even greater risk. She was placed on respiratory support, received blood transfusions, and received parenteral nutrition through intravenous feeding, all aimed at ensuring her survival and well-being.
Manushi's resilience began to shine through as she started displaying positive signs. After seven weeks, her condition improved to the point where she could consume milk. Her organs gradually developed, and by the time she reached 4.5 months old, she was able to be fed milk with a spoon. Today, she weighs approximately 2.4 kg, a testament to her remarkable progress. The doctors and medical team at the hospital undoubtedly deserve heartfelt appreciation for their tireless efforts in saving her life and nurturing her growth.
