Erling Haaland, the Manchester City striker, has surpassed Kylian Mbappe (PSG) to become the most valuable football player in the world, according to the valuation by the football and business portal Football Benchmark.
Top 10 Most Valuable Football Players in the World: Haaland Pricier Than Mbappe According to the latest valuation by Football Benchmark, Haaland's current value is 194 million euros. In contrast, Mbappe's value stands at 182 million euros. This marks the first time that Haaland has claimed the number one spot in Football Benchmark's Top 10 Most Valuable Football Players in the world, a position previously held exclusively by Mbappe in recent years.
It is not difficult to understand why Haaland surpassed Mbappe. Simply put, the Norwegian international has shown remarkable progress in the 2022/23 season compared to Mbappe, who achieved success mainly in domestic competitions. In the recently concluded campaign, the 22-year-old striker scored 52 goals in 53 matches and provided 9 assists, making him the player involved in the most goals in the past season.
A true goal-scoring machine, Haaland played a significant role in helping Manchester City secure their first-ever "treble" in history. Additionally, Haaland earned numerous individual accolades such as the Premier League Golden Boot, the Champions League Golden Boot, and the 2022/23 Golden Shoe.
Ranking third and fourth in the Top 10 are the Real Madrid duo, Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham. Specifically, the Brazilian international is valued at 157 million euros, while the English midfielder's value is 152 million euros. Real Madrid is one of the three clubs with two players featured in the Top 10. Apart from Real Madrid, Manchester City and Barcelona also have two stars among the top ten.
