Security surveillance cameras captured the moment two domestic dogs did not hesitate to attack, preventing a cobra from crawling into the house, where the little owner was sleeping at that time. The incident happened on July 19, 2019.
While a one-year-old girl named Skye was sleeping in her home in Kidapawan, Philippines, the venomous snake crawled into the front yard and moved towards the girl.
In the surveillance video, a two-year-old white dachshund named Moxie can be seen immediately running to the snake and starting to bite the snake out of the house without hesitation.
The older 4-year-old dog, Miley, rushed to the rescue and grabbed the cobra in its mouth.
The cobra crawled towards the door, but the two dogs continued to bite its tail and dragged it away from the girl's room. After the two-minute fight, the snake stopped moving and died shortly thereafter.
But, sadly, Miley also died minutes after being bitten by a cobra. The second dog Moxie survived, but was blinded by the snake's venom.
At the time of the incident, the girl's parents Jaime Selim and Pauie were both working. But the babysitter was there to take care of Skye.
“My wife and I were working at the time, and when we got home and looked at the camera, we were shocked but very proud of the dogs.” “I am grateful for their bravery in protecting my daughter. We miss Miley so much.” Jaime Selim said.
