Against all odds, Nadia, 29, and Robbie Sherwin, 32, from Dallas, were told that having children would be a challenge for them. However, their journey took an unexpected turn when they welcomed twins and triplets within a span of just two years. Following their marriage in 2012, the couple faced a year of unsuccessful attempts to conceive. Despite their youth, fitness, and good health, their inability to conceive raised concerns among doctors. It was later discovered that Mrs. Sherwin had polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and 37 cysts in her ovaries, presenting a significant obstacle to pregnancy.
Mrs. Sherwin bravely shared her experience, expressing, "I had eggs available, but hormonal imbalances within my body prevented the natural maturation of eggs. I felt a deep sense of inadequacy and vulnerability. The realization that I was unable to fulfill what felt like my profound destiny crushed my heart."
“RoƄƄie felt helpless as he was not aƄle to fix this proƄleм for мe.. We clung to each other мore than eʋer and only мade it through Ƅy neʋer giʋing up hope.”
In a relentless pursuit of a solution, Mrs. Sherwin's doctors prescribed oral Femara and Clomid medication in an attempt to induce ovulation. Despite 11 months of trying, the medication proved ineffective and caused severe side effects for Mrs. Sherwin. Undeterred, the determined couple made the decision to explore an alternative approach using an injectable hormone called Gonal-F. This option was suitable for cases where the ovaries were capable of producing follicles (small sacs containing immature eggs), but hormonal stimulation alone was insufficient to promote follicle maturation.
The couple were thrilled to learn that her Ƅody responded well and Mrs Sherwin Ƅecaмe pregnant within a мonth. The couple was thrilled to learn they were haʋing twins at her first scan.
