On July 24th, 2016, in the city maternity center of Odessa, Ukraine, 37-year-old Oksana Kobeletska surprised the nation by giving birth to quintuplets, a unique case for Ukraine. The quintuplets consisted of two girls and three boys. Prior to this, Oksana and her husband had already been blessed with a three-year-old daughter named Alice.
During the first ultrasound check, Oksana and her husband were surprised to discover the amazing news. Thankfully, she had an easy pregnancy, and on the day of the delivery, she successfully gave birth to two girls and three boys via c-section. The quintuplets were born in the 31st week of pregnancy and weighed between 2.4 and 3.9 pounds. With the arrival of these five babies, the couple now has a total of six kids.
On the same day they were born, the couple gave names to their babies: Aleksandra, Dariya, Denis, Vladislav, and David. The happy parents were presented with a 5-bedroom apartment from Odessa city officials as a gesture of celebration for welcoming their five new arrivals. Proud parents of these five precious babies, they have shared heartwarming photos of the quintuplets for the first time.
Photographer Julia Guseva shared her emotions on Instagram, expressing how pleasantly surprised she and her team were while working with the quintuplets, Denis, Vlad, David, Sasha, and Dasha, who were just 2 months old at the time. She mentioned that it was easier to work with them than they had expected, as the kids slept peacefully during the photo shoot. Julia and her team managed to create a beautiful story of love and friendship, which she believes began in their mother's womb for both the babies and their parents.
To help distinguish the babies from each other, colored strings are tied on their hands. However, the mother of the quintuplets can easily tell them apart without needing such hints. In the Odessa Five blog, she elaborates in detail about the unique character and temperament of each of her precious children.
As seen in the comments on the photo, this is "the case where you asked for a brother or sister, but received five times more."
Handling two multi-seat strollers at once is manageable for the father of the twins. Now that the twins have turned five months old, the family has moved into a new and spacious apartment. Congratulations on your new home!
