YG's stock experienced a decline following the news of Lisa (Blackpink) not renewing her contract.

The news of Lisa's unsuccessful contract renewal negotiations with YG Entertainment has caused a stir. The stock value of YG has also declined due to the controversies surrounding the contract discussions with Blackpink.

On July 12th, Munhwa Daily, a Korean newspaper, shocked readers by reporting that there is a high possibility of Lisa leaving the company after the exclusive contracts of the Blackpink members with YG Entertainment expire in August.

Although Lisa and YG have been in discussions regarding the contract extension, they have not reached an agreement yet.

Furthermore, the article mentions that the contract extension process with the remaining three members, Jennie, Rosé, and Jisoo, has been relatively smooth.

Moreover, a Chinese company revealed to Munhwa Ilbo, "We discussed Lisa's appearance on a TV program, but we were informed that it is challenging to schedule activities beyond August. It seems that the contract extension with Lisa is uncertain."

YG is hoping for a "dramatic agreement" before the deadline, but it is known that there are significant differences in viewpoints, which hinder reaching a consensus.

In response, a source from YG Entertainment explained to the media, "The uncertain schedule is due to Lisa's tour and personal activities. It has nothing to do with the contract extension. The contract extension with her is still being discussed."

However, the news of Lisa potentially leaving YG has caused a commotion. According to the Korea Exchange, at 10:30 a.m. on July 12th, YG's stock was trading at 74,800 won, a 5.2% decrease compared to the previous trading session at the same time. Later, YG's stock continued to decline by 8%.

The public is also worried about YG losing Lisa, as the contract expiration is approaching rapidly. Blackpink debuted on August 8, 2016, so according to the seven-year exclusive contract term, it will end on August 8th of this year.

On the Weibo platform in China, the topic "Smooth contract extensions for Blackpink except for Lisa" trended as the top hot search in both the overall and entertainment categories.

In recent days, there have been numerous rumors circulating about the contracts of each Blackpink member with YG. Among them, Jennie and Lisa are predicted to be the two members most likely to leave the company.
