"I See it as Similar to Darwin Nunez at Liverpool - Last Season as an Adjustment Period"

Rio Ferdinand has expressed concern that Rasmus Hojlund may experience the same difficulties acclimating to English football as Darwin Nunez experienced during his first season with Liverpool.

The 20-year-old is expected to complete his move from Atalanta to Manchester United for £72 million. He will become Erik ten Hag’s new No. 9 for the Red Devils.

Even if Ferdinand recognizes Hojlund’s “huge potential,” he cautioned that those hopes should be moderated, at least at first.

Anyone who has seen him play can tell you that he has qualities you covet. TNT Sports commentator and former player Rio Ferdinand believes the player will thrive in the Premier League.

“I see it in a similar light to how Darwin Nunez did at Liverpool. His adapting season was the past one.Everything about him is tailor-made for the Premier League, but his debut season wasn’t as fruitful as he had hoped.

But I anticipate a new face in the Liverpool lineup this year.I wouldn’t be shocked if Hojlund has a season like that, though I hope he has a better one. It’s possible, but he’ll need some time to readjust.

The previous year, Nunez scored 34 goals and had four assists in 41 games. Last year, he scored 15 goals and added four assists in 42 games. After a season in which he scored 16 goals and added seven assists in Italy, Hojlund is moving on to play in the Premier League.

It was suggested to Ferdinand that Harry Kane would have been an excellent addition to the United squad at the present time. The momentum for signing Hojlund is rising as former United center defender and Spurs detractor Ten Hag dismissed the possibility of a deal being accomplished.

After touching down in Manchester on Tuesday afternoon, the Danish international made his way to United’s Carrington training complex for a battery of tests.

The forward has reached a personal agreement on a five-year contract with an additional year of team control, and the deal is set to be finalized and announced on Wednesday.

“The features are there, but you’ll have to shell out a lot of cash today due to English tax and Manchester United. That’s the way it works,” Ferdinand chimed in.
